Felix 'Feel' Lightfoot [Cream's Father]

Oooh boy, this is a design I've been long meaning to get around to since 2012 (as per the above image). I was prompted to do this however recently, especially after being asked about him in my recent Q&A journal: comments.deviantart.com/1/6095… (Feel free to take a gander and answer any questions about my story things- Like this one, I'm going to be doing pictures for relevant information that need a display, so it'll be fun getting some interesting prompts!)

Anyways, meet Felix Lightfoot, aka Feel the Rabbit- Cream the Rabbit's father! As detailed in the above image with Vanilla and Vanguard (Grand Battle Kukku 15th), Feel is the third member of "Team Freedom" of Sonic Origins: 20 Years Ago. Feel is the renowned "Hero of Green Hill", and is well-known for his heroic nature and charming personality. Under the surface however, despite all of his good deeds Feel doesn't truly care about the betterment of the world, but is more interested in the perks and personal gain from his hero work, he absolutely loves the fame and adoration, not to mention the spoils of his battles. Feel's ability is a unique mutation which allows him full mobility of his ears to lift heavy objects and use them as extra hands (a trait which his daughter would similarly inherit- however hers enables her to use her ears for flight).

Vanilla and Vanguard are long-time friends- Vanguard in particular is the heir to the Battle Kukku Army, but doesn't wish to follow in his father's footsteps. Instead he aspires to be a hero in secret. They are met one day by the hero, Feel, who immediately takes an interest in Vanilla much to Vanguard's chagrin. But what Feel is actually interested in is stirring up the Battle Kukku heir into becoming a villain for him to best. Fast forward, Feel is successful in this, with Vanguard realizing that with a world with heroes like this, there needs to be villains. For the next 15 years or so Feel is still with Vanilla on and off, but finally leaves her alone to raise Cream, feeling that he doesn't want the responsibility of being a father weighing him down.

This was pretty fun to do and it was good to get back into proper conceptualizing I can talk about! Obviously this is a design I've been meaning to do for many many years now, so it's great to finally have it down fully. The idea for Feel came from the prototype rabbit idea for Sonic and the early concept for Ristar: 2.bp.blogspot.com/-nWRinpo6ZII… Although, the design here has heavily evolved from these basic designs, but I do still consider these for use for his much younger design haha. To reference Ristar a bit, I've added heavy star-based motifs to his design, but also to emphasize his position as both a celebrity and a hero.

His expanded name "Felix Lightfoot" implies he is a relative of this world's Johnny Lightfoot, as he has quite a large family. Another trait I've carried over from Johnny is as a Lightfoot he is exceptionally tall for his age, standing at about 120 cm at 15 years old. Overall it feels really good finally tying in my older ideas together, it was certainly fun doodling these old as designs for Vanilla and GBK, haha! The idea for Feel's personality is for him to be like Sonic (representing being Sonic's prototype design lol), except Feel doesn't share the same moral compass. I was also inspired a bit by the skeevy personality of Marty from Steven Universe, haha! Anyways, enjoy!
