'Clucky' - Mobini (Animal Friend) Type

In the vast world exists a large array of different sapient species. Among them are the Mobini ("Animal Friends") that are spread throughout all parts of the continents as native wildlife, however more predominantly within the Mobian Isles. Of the Mobini comes numerous sub-species and branches, each with distinguishing characteristics, such as the serene bluebird species, Flicky, and ever cheerful tree-dwelling species, Ricky. This article however aims to detail the history of the recently discovered mimicry species of the Clucky.

The Clucky are more exotic than the more conventional Mobini animal types frequenting the Mobian Isles, as they natively reside on remote islands off the coast of Mazuri. The earliest known history of the Clucky dates back more than 4,000 years ago, when settlers from the ancient Echidna Knuckles Tribe came in contact with the species when searching for new countries to conquer. It is the first known interaction between Mobian-type species and Mobini- Which resulted in major communication issues that later spurred greater conflict.

Like all Mobini sub-species, the Clucky are incapable of "human"-like speech; the Clucky in particular natively communicate via repeated clicks of the tongue, sniffing, and spitting to express distaste. Through continued communication with the Knuckles Tribesman however, in an attempt to educate the "lesser species" the Echidnas would try to get them to speak their language, frequently asking them if they yet "know the way", much to the Clucky confusion. Over time, they were able to phonetically mimic the sounds of the the Echidna, with the phrase "do you know 'de'wae'" being a repeatedly spoken cry when attempting to speak to non-Mobini species. As a result, the islands of the Clucky have been known to outsiders as "De'wae". Unbeknownst to most, despite their appearance and ancestry the Clucky are not Echidna-type Mobini, but are more accurately represented as being of the "buff-chested Porcupine" variety. They are strongly characterized to be different from the rest of the Mobini species by being able to mimic sounds.

Once the exploring Knuckles Tribesman left them, the Clucky continued to develop on their own, still incapable of human speech, but adapting by phonetically adding to their "vocabulary" and mimicking more and more words and phrases. Their society is broken down into several types, the most common being the Native Clucky in their original state, those who have not learnt how to speak "De'wae". Following is the "De'waean Initiates", those who are growing in their teachings. They coat themselves in blue body paint to separate and distinguish themselves from the common type, as their bodies continue to grow in strength from vigorous activity. The Initiates act more as "missionaries" of sorts, representatives who speak "the way" to outsiders who come upon their land.

The most prominent in more recent history is the "De'waean Warriors". They are distinguished members of the Clucky society who are large in strength, and able to speak strongly of the way. They are a privileged band of Clucky who have taken more after the teachers of their ancestors, coating their bodies in red paint and bearing the crescent of the extinct ancients. Reports have discovered that during the awakening of Dark Gaia and the fragmentation of the planet's continental plates, Dr. Eggman who while attempting to dominate the country of Mazuri, encountered the Clucky and attempted to capture them as batteries for his robotic creations. This proved to be a fatal mistake, as they were able to fend off against Eggman's evil machinations. As he fled, the De'waean Warriors were heard repeatedly exclaiming something sounding like "Why are you running".

Due to the fracturing of the planet and the unstable ascension of numerous landmasses, the De'waean Tribe have found a way off of the native island, with several bands spreading out and migrating across most-to-all countries. They continue to speak "the way" to all they come across.

Finally is the enigmatic "De'waean Commander". It is unknown if a true Commander ever really existed to history, but the idea of a supreme leader who rules over the Clucky packs is something cherished amongst the people. Inspired by the prophecies spoken of and taught to them by the ancient Knuckles Tribesman, they came to revere the idea of a "hero all in yellow". Some Clucky over time have taken on this role by coating themselves in yellow bodypaint, but they still await the true "Commander" who would be born naturally of yellow. With the recent migration of the species, numerous packs have spread about with a new Commander amongst them being chosen based on inherent charisma. At this point the notion of their hero being in yellow isn't a necessary idea to maintain, but it is still a revered piece of folklore amongst them.
